Brittany Dawn Lawson Made the President's List in Fall 2013

Surry Community College recognizes Brittany Dawn Lawson of Mount Airy, NC, for being on the Fall 2013 Semester President's List.

The President's List recognizes full-time students who achieve academic excellence and maintain a 3.75 grade point average with no final grade lower than a "C." Students on the President's List also qualify for the Dean's List.

Surry Community College was founded in 1964 and is located in Dobson, North Carolina. As one of the state's 58 community colleges, it serves Surry and Yadkin counties. Currently, Surry offers 30 degree programs, 16 diploma programs, and 29 certification programs along with hundreds of continuing education courses and seminars. The college, under the direction of President Dr. David R. Shockley, has a mission to promote personal growth and community development to a diverse population through excellence in teaching, learning, and service.

SCC serves more than 18,000 students in 1,500 classes through its Corporate and Continuing Education Division. This area of the college offers a variety of learning opportunities through "not-for-credit" classes for those looking to take a one-time class for personal enrichment or to expand their knowledge base in a particular area.

In addition to its main campus, the college operates The Center for Public Safety in Mount Airy, The Yadkin Center in Yadkinville, The Pilot Center in Pilot Mountain, and The Elkin Center in Elkin.
